At the LPGA, our goal is for golf to reflect the rich diversity of the world we live in. This hoodie is the centerpiece of an LPGA campaign led by Michelle Wie West to raise funds for two important initiatives honoring Renee Powell. As the second Black player on the LPGA Tour, Renee has dedicated her career to increasing diversity in golf. She is currently head professional at her family’s Clearview Golf Club, the only course designed, built, owned and operated by an African American. Renee is a true trailblazer and beloved global ambassador for golf.

All LPGA proceeds from the sale of this limited-edition hoodie will go towards changing the face of golf through the LPGA Renee Powell Fund and the Clearview Legacy Foundation. With your support, we can increase awareness of the LPGA while helping more girls of color get into the game of golf.

The LPGA Renee Powell Fund: The Renee Powell Grant is awarded through the LPGA Foundation and the LPGA Renee Powell Fund, providing need-based grants to LPGA*USGA Girls Golf programs to increase participation by girls in Black communities. The grants provide access, instruction, equipment and additional resources to introduce girls to golf and keep them in the game.

The Clearview Legacy Foundation: When Renee’s father, Bill Powell, encountered racial discrimination on the golf course after returning home from World War II, he decided to build his own course where everyone would be welcome. In 1946, he established Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio. In honor of its 75th year, the Clearview Legacy Foundation started a campaign to endow Clearview and preserve its important role in history.

For more than 70 years, the LPGA has been working to change the face of golf. We applaud efforts like the WNBA’s #OrangeHoodie campaign and SheIsSports’ #WomenWorthWatching for increasing visibility of women’s sports. Thank you for your support!
